Plastic not only pollutes people, but the environment also. The world seas are especially affected by plastic waste that is thrown into the sea without consideration. This rubbish, and in particular disused fishing nets cause marine animals to suffer a painful and senseless death. OBJECT CARPET has declared war on plastic in the sea and is trying to protect the sea with their sustainably produced carpet.
OBJECT CARPET is collaborating with the Healthy Seas initiative, which collects plastic waste and old fishing nets from the depths of the oceans. True to the motto - "from waste to style" - this plastic waste is then processed by OBJECT CARPET into carpets made from 100% recycled material, so-called ECONYL® yarn from Aquafil. Instead of turning the seabed into a death trap for marine life, the carpets from OBJECT CARPET decorate hotel properties or the next Federal Press Ball in Berlin.
To further continue saving the seas, OBJECT CARPET has developed the quality VELAA exclusively in support of the Healthy Seas initiative. Translated from the official language of the Maldives Dhivehi, VELAA means "turtle".
The carpet was designed based on the graphic pattern of a turtle and with its blue shade brings a piece of the "sea" into office or hotel rooms. The quality can be adapted to individual needs as acoustic tiles, rolls or RUGX.
For every square meter of carpet sold, OBJECT CARPET donates five percent of its sales to the brave divers of the Healthy Seas initiative. Anyone who chooses VELAA can thereby actively contribute to marine protection.
